Purple Halo are currently recruiting for a Senior Android Developer on behalf of our client in Central London, the client is an exciting three year old award winning video collaboration start-up who are currently expanding their development team. The client uses a stack of Python and Crouchbase on the back-end and React with redux, migrating from JQuery on the front-end for the web based application, objective-c for the IOS application and Java with Android SDK for the Android Application.
The current development team sits the award winning CTO, a full stack developer, a Senior React Developer, Junior Front-end Developer, 2 IOS Developers (1 remote) you will be responsible for building, mentoring and collaborating on all existing and future Android products.
The Senior Android Developer will be required to build and maintain the Android System, You will be involved across multiple teams including the Back-end team, front-end team, Mobile, QA and Design, so collaboration is absolutely essential – you may also be involved in mentoring the Junior developer and any new less senior developers that join the team.
In depth knowledge of Java and Android SDK
Strong understanding of object-oriented software development principles
Full exposure to the app development cycle (ideally contributed to shipping one or more apps in the Play store)
Passionate about UX and love implementing beautiful designs
Extensive experience integrating with RESTful web service APIs
Strong understanding of the value of unit testing and related techniques
Excellent communication skills working across multiple disciplines and generally getting stuck in to whatever is required
